SBE and DBE companies are for-profit small businesses where socially and economically disadvantaged individuals own at least a 51% interest and also control management and daily business operations. Many large corporations are required by law to partner with small businesses when bidding and pursuing federal and large scale construction, facilities maintenance, transportation, healthcare, janitorial and other service industry contracts and work.
